CHIH-JEN & ASSOCIATES (or more commonly referred to as “CJA”) was started in 2011 by CJ Ooi with a vision to provide high quality legal services at affordable fees.
Started as a sole proprietorship, it is now a partnership with its main office located in the upcoming vibrant township of Bukit Jalil. In keeping with its founding vision, CJA's range of practice areas covers a diverse range of areas which ranges from matrimonial disputes to corporate litigation. CJA’s clientele includes individuals, foreign companies, multinational corporations; and public listed companies. CJA prides itself in the care and attention given to the needs of every client be it an individual or a multinational corporations and as such no call is ever to small to be left unanswered or unreturned or any issue too trivial to be dealt with.

CHIH-JEN, OOI
Solicitor
Chih-Jen read law at the University of London External Programme and graduated with honours in the year 2000. Thereafter Chih-Jen continued his legal education with the Malaysian Qualifying Board taking the certificate of legal practice or better known as CLP in the year 2001 and passed the following year. Having read in chambers in one of the oldest firm in Malaysia, Messrs Presgrave & Matthews in Penang, Chih-Jen commenced his legal practice in the year 2003 as a litigator trying mainly civil, employment and insurance disputes..
Through his years of practice, Chih-Jen has handled many cases and gained a wealth of experience in areas ranging from international contractual disputes to complex land and insurance fraud matters. He has in depth experience in been banking and financial matters and has grown to specialise in insolvency and corporate matters. He has acted for banks including suits against the banks involving fraudulent financial transactions. He has also acted for liquidators in the numerous insolvency disputes. He has also acted for corporations in high-level restructuring exercises. Chih-Jen likewise advises, conducts negotiations on behalf of his clients and has managed to negotiate cross-border settlements with the most recent being in Japan and Bangkok. CJA also acts in an advisorial capacity for a wide range of clients including foreign contractors, government linked companies, public listed companies, multinational corporations and private individuals.
Chih-Jen had in 2014 obtained his Masters in Business Law from the National University of Malaysia. He is also a member of Insolvency International, an organization which promotes cross border insolvency practice. Outside the office, Chih-Jen enjoys exercising especially swimming and playing badminton. He is also a great fan of scuba diving.
JANE SAW WEI TUAN
Solicitor
After graduating from the University of London External Programme with honours in 2000, Jane was called to the Malaysian Bar in 2003. She had chambered in one of the leading banking and finance firms known as Paul Chong and Nathan and thereafter entered practice in the area of civil litigation in Penang.
Having found her calling in teaching, Jane had continued her career in the academia where she had lectured both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels at local colleges. Her subjects of specialities are in Company Law and Law of Evidence where she has conducted seminars and lectures relating to the Law of Evidence. She had also taught Law of Evidence to students studying for the Malaysian Bar Exam known as Certificate of Legal Practice.
Being well versed in evidentiary matters, Jane is regularly also consulted by practitioners on the Malaysian law of evidence and also with regards to certain provisions relating to the National Land Code. Jane also holds a Masters Degree in Advance Legal Practice from the University of Northumbria.
Jane is now a full fledge partner in Chih-Jen & Associates where she heads the corporate department.
